Adroit Insurance and Risk Community Update
2020 brought many challenges, including the interruption and cancellation of fundraising events across the world. Many community organisations and charities rely on these events to generate much needed funds for their programs and initiatives. The reduction in available funds was compounded by the demand increase due to COVID on the services provided by these charities and community organisations.
Here at Adroit our usual community activity came to a halt in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions on events and although we were able to support our community partners in some virtual events and online campaigns, we were not able to deliver our usual fundraising support.
Fast forward to 2021 and we are ecstatic to finally be back out supporting our community partners and local sporting clubs. In fact, it has been a massive month and we would like to share some of the highlights in our Communities:
Walking Off the War Within – Ballarat
On Saturday 24th April the team at Ballarat sponsored and participated in the Walking Off the War Within. The event is held in memory of Nathan Shanahan, a returned solider and firefighter, and other fallen Service Men and Women who have taken their own lives after battling mental health issues. The Walk is for Emergency Service Personnel, Defence Force Personnel, and members of the public to come together to share the burden and march as one.
Melbourne Golf Day – Les Twentyman Foundation
Our Melbourne and ReWork teams co-organised the Les Twentyman Foundation annual Golf Day. Funds raised go the foundation’s work supporting at risk youth. The event was held at Moonah Links and in attendance was TV personality Sam Newman, Olympian and 4-time world champion Sue Stanley Health, OAM, Australian aerial skier and Victorian state politician Kirstie Marshall and Detective Superintendent Pat Boyle. The event raised over $22,000.
Albury Golf Day – Border Trust Foundation
On the 16th April, the team in Albury held their annul community golf day in support of the Border Trust Foundation. The funds raised from the Golf Day are used for various community projects in the Albury and Wodonga Region. This year the event raised over $12,000 for the Border Trust.
Gippsland – Centenary House Inc
The team in Gippsland has so far donated $1400 from various branch initiatives to Centenary House Inc. Centenary House is a community-owned facility that provides safe, supportive and affordable accommodation to patients and/or families of the Gippsland Cancer Care Centre and specialist medical services at Latrobe Regional Hospital.
We are proud our achievements over the last month and grateful to be back out making a difference in our local communities.
